SLA Baltimore

You might want to check out the InfoToday blog about happenings at the SLA conference held in Baltimore, MD. There are posts about RSS, ebooks from Springer, Social Networks, among other topics. It's always interesting to learn what librarians are doing regardless of the industry or organization to which they belong. There is also an official SLA 2006 conference blog. It's also fun to "attend" a conference virtually, right!

Create your own audio podcast on a Windows machine

Creating your own podcast on a Windows machine is probably easier than you realize. To make a podcast, you need a computer, a microphone and audio recording software. Audacity is one such program and it is free. Once recorded, edited and saved, the file needs to be saved as a MP3 file. If you'd like others to hear your podcast, the MP3 file can be stored on a website, in iTunes, in a blog post, or at free file hosting services such as, Our Media. Remember, you do not need iTunes to listen to a podcast. Windows Media Player or any audio player works.
